“The Doc is in and she’ll fix you up! If you’re a toy, then you’re in luck…”
Chances are if you are singing a long with me you have a huge Doc McStuffins fan in your home! If you have a Doc McStuffins fan, you likely have someone who loves her toys and most importantly her stuffed animals. This show and stuffed animals define our home especially with my 5-year old daughter, Lucianna (Lucy).
Once Disney’s Doc McStuffins came out, Lucy has been talking about a party with her favorite Doctor. She has quite the collection of Build-A-Bear Bears on her bed and we knew there was no other place to go than to visit the Build-A-Bear Workshop with her friends!
Build-A-Bear Workshops did an amazing job with my preschooler and her classroom friends. The children were greeted and given name tags. The hostess was beyond gracious and friendly and helped each child pick out a bear and name her new friend. The girls were then escorted to the basin of hearts where they picked two hearts – one they would give Lucianna and one for their own bear. The took the hearts and shook them with loved, covered them with kiss and wrapped in many hugs. They then had the opportunity to place a heart in Lucianna’s Bear – this made her bear ultra special and fun – after all she is going home with a bear full of love from very special peers! Bears were stuffed, games were played and hearts with loved were sewn shut in each girl’s little friend. Upon completion of the stiching of each bear, the girls took turns bathing their bear and then the best part – picking out a new outfits and/or accessories to provide personality and individuality to their bear! What a SWEET process!

Keep the Party Cost Down:
- Have a Bear-y Special Party with your little one, but keep the cost down by inviting close friends instead of the whole class. For my daughter’s preschool class, we only invited the girls. Prices start at $10 per child and go up to $20 per child. If a parent/child wants something additional, they can buy at at the end of the party or purchase a gift card to give you toward the party total.
- Do not host the party during a major meal ( For example, don’t plan the party in the middle of lunch hour where you might be expected to provide meals.)
- Check with cake shops in your mall or Build-A-Bear location. Perhaps they offer discounts on cakes for those who purchased Build-A-Bear Parties. We picked up ours from The American Cookie Company and got a small savings off our total purchase.
- As I did above, Google Search FREE printable invitations. I got my FREE invites from Disney Online.
