Are you an avid blog reader, Instagram follower, frequent pinner on Pinterest? If so, you probably are like me and think there are two people – those with clean kitchens and the rest of us. Let’s be honest, most of those kitchens are perfectly shot with the dirty dishes, the wet sponges, and the rest of the stuff quickly hidden behind the lens. I tend to fall into the rest of the category where there is no where else to toss the mess unless I stay consistent with the upkeep.
Right now, when you sign up for Grove Collaborative, you can get this FREE kitchen essentials kit including Mrs. Meyer’s hand soap + dish soap, Grove Collaborative kitchen towel, Grove Collaborative walnut scrubber sponges, free shipping + free 60 day VIP trial.
Kitchen Tips:
Tackle a little each day: Don’t set a day to deep clean the kitchen, set aside 10 minutes each day. After all, this is the area of the home you frequent the most. It’s also the area that gets the most activity. Even though in the evenings I wear the roll of cook, homework helper, bath giver, and more, I give the kitchen to myself assigning everyone else the other home tasks. This allows me to have the most control and to keep the area the best maintained. With ten minutes set aside each day, this equates for over an hour in the kitchen a week keeping it clean and running.
Keep clutter away: One thing that makes the kitchen look the worse, is clutter on the countertops. Anything that you can put away (coffee pots, juicers, mixers, knife set, etc) helps the area look cleaner and better kept. This also bring a sense of organization and leaves rooms for things like candles and flowers which can immediately give a feeling of relaxation!
Use beautiful cleaning supplies: I know it sounds silly, but I’m way more motivated to clean and do dishes if I have nice supplies that I look forward to using. For example, Mrs. Meyer’s hand soaps and dish soaps are made with essential oils and plant-derived ingredients, so they smell amazing and don’t irritate my skin. Plus, the matching set looks so nice sitting next to my sink!
