What’s for dinner? Is that a familiar phrase in anyone else’s home? Many times, I don’t even think about dinner until the question is asked at 5 pm. Then I find myself in a position, opening the pantry and fridge to find ingredients and create a meal for the table that is pleasing to everyone in the home.
This has become a problem…but problem solved!
Terra’s Kitchen is a weekly meal delivery service focused on delivery technology to bring you healthy, prepped ingredients. The service does almost all of the slicing, dicing, and chopping so that you can have dinner ready in 30 minutes or less.
I think one of my favorite things about Terra’s kitchen was the ability to customize my order. When Terra’s Kitchen first approached me to work together, I have to admit I was apprehensive. I thought oh no, not another food service after having terrible luck with another company. Additionally, a New Year’s resolution for our family was to eat healthy in the new year. I worried, ordering from this website was going to kill our diet new lifestyle. I was pleasantly surprised to see I could customized food diets to fit our home. Before even looking at the food choices, I checked the boxes low calorie, gluten free, paleo, and weight loss (if you are not a meat eater, you could also check vegetarian.) With these choices, I picked two meals my family LOVED – Sweet Potato, Bacon and Kale Hash and Cauliflower Fried Rice. Also in my meal kit I added shrimp and edamame.
The service sends all their food in a climate-controlled vessel, which is easily returned and reused up to 100 times. You will receive an email that your food is on your doorstep. Best of all, if you are not home your vessel will continue to keep your fresh ingredients safe and cool. After you receive and empty your vessel, TK supplies you a date where your food is automatically picked up. Just peel the return label and set it outside your door.
The two meals my family ordered were Cauliflower Fried Rice and Sweet Potato, Bacon and Kale Hash. We also tossed in some shrimp and edamame to go with our cauliflower recipe.

Night one, we had the sweet potato hash. I was only going to serve it to my husband and I as my kids don’t prefer sweet potatoes. Once the kids smelled it, they demanded having the same meal as us, over their favorite taco soup! My husband personalized his dish and fried an egg placing it on top.
The second night we had the cauliflower fried rice. I added the shrimp and edamame I placed as extras my cart. I sauteed the shrimp in garlic and Bragg’s Liquid Aminos (a soy sauce substitute our family uses) and I kept the corn out (I did not want a starchy veggie.) My kids had no idea the meal was even cauliflower and not rice! They both claimed they were eating rice – fine by me! I told them the truth, after their bowl was licked clean.
I loved that the step by step recipes are provided in the box. It is something I could easily make over and over in my own home. I think my biggest frustration with the fried rice recipe was not having a food processor. I knew when I ordered my veggies were cut, but I was provided a cut up head of cauliflower but not cut up enough that it was riced. Instead I tossed the cauliflower in the blender. The recipe suggested a food processor or, if you don’t have that, a box grater – I thought I would cut myself using a grater with small pieces of cauliflower.
