What is the Elf on the Shelf?
Elf on the Shelf is a Christmas Tradition. The tradition has a book and a elf doll. The book is poetic and in rhyme sharing the purpose of the Elf’s visits. The Elf visits after each Thanksgiving. He/She goes and returns from the North Pole each evening. Every morning he can be found in a new location in the house. Unfortunately, Santa can’t create toys for good boys and girls alone. He needs elves to help build his toys in the workshop and to report to him those boys and girls that have been naughty or nice. If you do not believe in Elf on the Shelf, Christmas magic will likely stop in your home.
How do I get Elf on the Shelf?
If you want an Elf on the Shelf, it is important to ask your parents. An Elf can only be welcomed to the family when a mom, dad or guardian agree. There are many places for where to find an Elf on the Shelf.
Why do we not have an Elf on the Shelf?
In some cases a family is assigned an Elf on the Shelf if Santa has observed naughty behavior during the year. This helps Santa Claus monitor naughty and nice behavior before delivering gifts on Christmas Day. Sometimes kids are already on the nice list and do not have an North Pole Elf in the home.
Why can you buy the Elf on the Shelf?
You can buy the Elf on the Shelf in the store because stores are adoption centers for Elves. In some cases, elves get shipped in boxes and their magic allows them to live there until they are adopted by a family. Once their family names, them, they have magic to move.

Do all Elves look the same?

When does Elf arrive?
Elf arrives on Thanksgiving or shortly after. There is a long line of Elves waiting to get magic to leave the North Pole. Once your Elf is released from customs he will visit your family as soon as possible.
When does an Elf leave?
The Elf on the Shelf leaves on Christmas Eve for their home, Santa’s North Pole Work shop. They catch a ride in Santa’s sleigh. Don’t worry an Elf on the Shelf will say good-bye on their last night.

In the case of emergency, parents can touch Elves. Parents touch do not have as much magic pull as children’s so hopefully magic is not lost. In the case of a real emergency, Elf might not be able to move for a new days.
What happens if Elf falls?
If Elf fall, Elf on the Shelf must not be touched. Use North Pole Magic Grippers to save Elf from the pet dog or getting stepped on.
When does the Elf move?
Elves move at night when boys and girls are sleeping. In cases where an Elf might have fallen asleep before the family, an Elf might have to move during the day. There is a special Elf letter for older kids about moving during the day.
Why didn’t My Elf move?
There are a lot of reasons why Elf on the Shelf didn’t move. These are the most frequent reasons. 1.) Elf was touched and lost his/her magic to return to the North Pole 2.) Hello Sarah. Elves are assigned to families. That doesn’t mean your second child can get an Elf too. Some families have multiple elves. However, this can get tricky and more challenging. Each family is different. That is up to you, Tessa. Some elves like to take their clothes back and forth in a suitcase. Some families like to pick out clothes for their elf, so the elf keeps the clothes at home. If it is one outfit your elf wears everyday, they will not return to the north pole naked. They will wear their clothes back to the North Pole every night.
