American Girl Breakfast
If you have an American Girl or even a similar off brand you know how expensive the accessories can be! I am almost ashamed to admit that I have paid more for doll clothes and accessories than I pay for my daughters! But there are many items you can make very inexpensively that are just as cute or even cuter than anything you can find in the store..food happens to be one of them. The girls and I love using a few craft items to create frugal food for the dolls. Today I am bringing you a simple tutorial for an American Girl Breakfast in Bed that you can make in about 15 minutes with your child. Hours of pretend fun are ahead!
Supplies:
- Craft Foam – white, yellow, tan, brown, burgundy.
- Scissors
- Hot Glue/Glue Gun
- Hole Punch
- Small Bottle Cap – about half dollar size
Directions:
To make this a totally kid friendly craft project you can use craft glue instead of hot glue.
Pancakes – Trace 2 or 3 (or as many as you want) round bottle cap shapes onto tan craft foam, cut pieces out, apply hot glue between each and layer together. Cut a small piece of brown into a syrup puddle shape glue to the top. Cut a small square of yellow and secure to the top of syrup for your butter.
Fried Eggs – Cut random white blobs from foam about the size of the end of your thumb. Use a hole punch to make the yolk with a piece of yellow foam, glue to center.
Bacon – Cut wavy strips from tan craft foam about ¾” long and ¼” wide, repeat with burgundy foam but make it only b ⅛” wide, secure to the top of tan piece.
Make as many sets as you like and toss them on a doll plate for loads of fun and play!
