Did you wear braces in high school? I did and although choosing the color of the bands I wanted each time I went in to get them tightened was considered cool, I’m sure I would have much rather had these clear Invisalign braces instead!
Many teenagers enter school in the fall with this ‘new brace face’, not sure what their friends will think. Every child wants to look and feel confident that first day back to school; but sometimes that’s easier said than done. For many kids, changing their looks with traditional metal braces can shake their confidence in facing their peers again. Let’s face it – you talk funny, eat funny, and just look completely different! But going back to school with new clear braces can actually be cool with Invisalign Teen!
Invisalign uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually straighten teeth, without metal or wires. After detailed impressions are taken of the teeth, Invisalign utilizes proprietary 3D computer imaging technology to map the patient’scomplete treatment from start to finish. Patients wear each aligner for about two weeks. During this time, the aligners gradually move their teeth until they achieve the prescribed final position.
Based on this Invisalign Infographic, people with nice smiles (i.e. straight teeth) are happier, more confident, considered friendlier and healthier, more likely to succeed professionally and personally and more. A person’s eyes and smile are the top two features that are remembered upon meeting someone.
Some advantages of Invisalign Teen are:
- It effectively straightens teeth without that typical “brace face”! They don’t have to hide their smile and no one has to know they even have them on!
- Because they’re removable, they’re a perfect fit for active teen.
- They won’t interfere with sports, music, other activities.
- Maintaining good oral hygiene with brushing/flossing is so much easier than with traditional braces.
- No forbidden foods. Love this one – I remember not being able to eat chips and bread always got stuck!
- Costs about the same as regular metal braces
You can actually take an Invisalign Self-Assessement to see if you may need Invisalign braces!
