I am a big fan of reading, that is why I am excited about this next giveaway. As a teacher, I do consider myself pretty knowledgeable about what is a good and bad book for young kids. Repetition, colors, and fun of course go a long way in our home.
Jenni from Barefoot Books is offering two lucky readers a set of book (two different age groups.) The best way for me to try to describe the diverse collect from Barefoot Books is to use the words timeless. These are stores that will be passed down from generation to generation. In addition to creating classics, they pass on diversity and imagination to broaden the range of your child’s awareness and knowledge. As expressed on their site, “Barefoot Books began with two mothers who wanted their children to have books that would feed the imagination, while instilling a respect for diversity and a love of the planet. Today, we are a world-wide community of writers, artists, storytellers, musicians, and others who are committed to providing timeless stories and captivating art that can help children become happy, engaged members of a global society.”
My eldest daughter and I got to experience the tunes of The Animal Boogie (as seen below), colors, shapes, and numbers with a cat named Cleo as well as a large bowl of turnip soup with a mouse and other fine animals in The Gigantic Turnip. A few things I can tell you about the Barefoot Books I reviewed – they are durable, well-made, imaginative, and fun!
Two lucky readers are going to get books for their own family, classroom, gift closet, you name it!
Set 1: For the younger audience, one lucky winner will get three board books for young children – Cleo’s Alphabet Book, Cleo’s Color Book, and Cleo’s Counting Book.
Set 2: For the older elementary group, one lucky winner will get a set of 2 books on CD – The Adventures of Odysseus and Shakespeare’s Storybook
If you are interested in purchasing a book from Barefoot Books, you can get 15% off with a special code Jenni is offering. Use the code SCSHFT when checking out HERE. This is a one time only code. If you need to purchase books for a non-profit organization, contact Jenni on those rates. You can find her contact information on the site HERE.
Happy Reading!
Note: Jenni offered a nice piece of advice. She runs songs or videos from Barefoot Books when she is sending a quick email or printing coupons. This helps distract the kids long enough for her to finish a task without being interrupted.
