I am not a fan on soda, juice, and rarely drink tea. I must say that my favorite drink that I always crave is WATER! Yes, water. I am grateful that I don’t tend to drink empty calories, but water becoming my drink of choice I have become quite the water snob! I notice regional differences in water and perfer the water I have in my home. I was really excited to take the ZeroWater Challenge.

ZeroWater is an In Home Filtrations System that uses a Duel-Ion Exchange system to remove virtually all dissolved solids from Tap Water. In fact ZeroWater is the only filtered system that meets the FDAs Requirements for Purified Bottled Water and it’s considered just as effective as Reverse Osmosis in reducing chomium-6 levels in water. All ZeroWater products come with a testing meter that guarantees a 000 reading on Total Dissolved Solids. If you compare your Standard Water Filter which is a Carbon Based Filter to Zero Water you can see the difference in the total dissolved solids that remain. My Tap Water contained a reading of 113 TDS, the Filtered Water was 65 TDS and the Zero Water was 000 TDS. I was really surprised at how little difference there was between the Filtered Water from the Fridge and the Tap Water.

    The last school bell is ringing, the sun is in the sky creating longer days, and heat and pools are among us. What does that mean? Beach, Backyard BBQs, and summer!

    Sam’s wants to kick off summer with creative recipes and baskets for your summertime fun! Sam’s Club simplifies meal planning by providing easy recipes, great outdoor items.

    Sam’s Club has put together some GREAT recipes that I wanted to share with you below.

    Blackberry Lemonade Cocktail

    Serves 10

    • 3 cups vodka
    • 6 cups Members Blackberry flavored lemonade
    • 2 cups pineapple juice
    • Lime wedges for garnish if desired
    • 4 cups ice

    In a drinks dispenser filled with ice, pour vodka, blackberry lemonade, and pineapple juice. Mix well and serve.

    Potato Pouches

    • 2 sheets aluminum foil
    • 2lbs. red bliss potatoes
    • ½ cup olive oil
    • 3 tbsp. Dijon mustard
    • ¼ cup fresh dill chopped
    • ½ tsp. salt
    • ½ tsp. freshly ground pepper

    In a small bowl mix together olive oil, mustard, dill, salt and pepper. Lay a sheet of foil on counter.

    Rinse potatoes and cut in quarters lay them on the bottom sheet of foil. Pour marinade evenly over potatoes, coating well. Place second sheet of foil on top of potatoes. Gather the top and bottom pieces of foil and starting on one side, fold over the edges twice towards the center, continue until all the edges are turned. This creates a pouch for cooking the potatoes. Place foil pouch directly on the grill. And cook for 15-20 minutes until potatoes are crispy and browned.

    Corn salad

    • 2 tbsp. lime juice
    • 3 tbsp. white vinegar
    • 3 tbsp. chopped fresh cilantro
    • ½ tsp. salt
    • ½ pepper
    • ½ cup olive oil
    • 3 cups fresh corn kernels
    • 2 cups black beans
    • 1 cup diced tomatoes
    • ½ cup chopped green pepper

    In a mixing bowl, whisk together lime juice, vinegar, salt, pepper and olive oil. Add the corn, beans, tomatoes pepper, and cilantro. Toss well and serve.

    • Breakfast: Granola Berry-Banana Smoothies – Coupons used: $1/4 Yoplait 6 oz. yogurt and $2 Nature Valley Value Pack Granola Bars
    • Lunch: Hearty Chicken Tortilla Soup – Coupons used: $1  Swanson Broth and $1.25 Pace Salsa

    All of the recipes turned out great!  They are simple, easy to follow and delicious.  And, they don’t take very long to make.  The smoothies only took me 5 minutes!
