S’mores Campfire Cones

S’mores Campfire Cones

We love this twist on a S’more especially if you are camping! These homemade S’mores Campfire Cones are so easy. Heat in an oven or over a grill (not an open flame) for the perfect S’mores Dessert! We think a great addition would be butterscotch chips!

Ingredients:

12 Sugar or Waffle Cones
1 bag Mini Marshmallows
12 oz Chocolate Chips
optional: Butterscotch Chips

Directions:

Fill each cone with marshmallows and chocolate chips.
Wrap in aluminum foil.
Head on the grill for 7 – 10 minutes. Keep away from direct flames. (This is also great in the oven!)
Unwrap and enjoy. Be careful as contents may be hot.

Cinnamon Roll Christmas Trees

If it’s a weekend morning for us, it probably includes a breakfast with Cinnamon Rolls. We love them! We had fun with these cinnamon rolls turning them into Christmas trees with green food coloring, some Christmas sprinkles and and Twizzlers Pull and Peel candy. This recipe is so easy only requiring a few additional touches to get your final Christmas Food Craft – we think the kids will love it! Enjoy.

Ingredients:

Supplies:

Parchment paper
Toothpick
Knife for frosting
Baking pan

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 400° and line a baking pan with parchment paper.
Open your cinnamon roll packaging and your cinnamon roll dough and set the icing aside.
Press two of your cinnamon roll doughs together and roll out into a long snake like figure.
Repeat step 3 with each piece of dough, making 4 dough snakes.
Form your dough snakes into Christmas trees by using a back and forth motion while placing your dough onto your pan.
Bake for 12-14 minutes or until your cinnamon rolls have a nice golden look to them.
Add a drop of your green coloring into your icing and mix with a toothpick.
Use a knife to frost each cinnamon roll tree with your green icing.
Sprinkle your stars onto each tree and pull apart your pull and peel licorice.
Cut your pull and peel into smaller pieces and place onto you Christmas trees in a zig zag pattern to look like garland.
Serve warm and enjoy!

Ingredients

Pillsbury cinnamon rolls with icing
Green food coloring
Geeky hostess natural colored star sprinkles
Red Twizzlers pull and peel

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400° and line a baking pan with parchment paper.
Open your cinnamon roll packaging and your cinnamon roll dough and set the icing aside.
Press two of your cinnamon roll doughs together and roll out into a long snake like figure.

Campfire Potatoes Recipe

Going camping this summer, this Campfire Potatoes Recipe will be perfect for the great outdoors or your own backyard!

Ingredients:

1 1/2 lb New Red Potatoes
1 large Onion
1 tbsp Minced Garlic
4 tbsp Butter
1-2 tbsp Worchestershire Sauce
1/8 tsp Cayenne Pepper
Salt and Pepper to taste

Directions:

Slice potatoes and onion into 1/8 – 1/4″ slices.
Place on piece of aluminum foil large enough to fold over and to be able to roll up edges.
Top with garlic, butter, Worcestershire and cayenne.
Fold packet over and roll edges to close.
Leave on medium grill for 30 minutes or in 350 oven (in a pan to avoid messes) for 35-40 minutes.

Apple Cupcakes

Can you believe we are already talking back to school?! Beyond supplies and everything else that comes with starting school again, getting teachers a little treat to begin the school year is a great idea! Why not make them something? Any teacher would love these adorable cupcakes made to look like an apple! Make a tray of them and put in the Teacher’s Lunchroom or Main Office. They’re so easy to make and will be a huge hit! My kids would agree that a few set aside to enjoy after school on the first day is a good idea too!

Cake Ingredients:

1 box White Cake Mix + box ingredients
Red Cupcake Liners

Frosting Ingredients:

1 cup softened Butter
3 cup Powdered Sugar
3 tbsp Milk
1 tsp Vanilla
Red Food Coloring
Red Sparkling Sugar
12 Tootsie Roll Midgies
Green Fruit Rollups or Green M&Ms

Directions:

Preheat oven and line muffin tins with paper liners.
Prepare batter according to box directions.
Fill liners 2/3 full and bake according to box directions for cupcakes.
Allow to cool completely.
Whip butter and vanilla for until fluffy.
Gradually add powdered sugar.
Add milk until you reach desired consistency.
Add food coloring to acheive pink/red color.
Frost each cupcake.
Sprinkle with red sparkling sugar.
Insert Tootsie Roll in middle to make stem.
If using Rollups, cut 2 leaves for each cupcake and put in place or if using M&Ms, place 2 M&Ms to represent leaves.

A twist on the traditional s’more recipe. Think outside your classic ingredients with this Ritz Nutella S’mores using marshmallow fluff on Frugal Coupon Living. Take a look below on how we went one step further with this quick and easy dessert.

Ritz Nutella S’mores

You probably know from all the S’more Recipes on our blog, we are a bit obsessed with the rich taste of marshmallow, chocolate and a little crunch. You might also remember from our S’mores Campfire Cones that we like to take a classic recipe and twist it up! Anyone else? Of course, a little twist to a s’more is trading your traditional chocolate for Nutella. But why not go one step further and twist of the traditional cooking your treat is placed on. This Nutella flavored s’more is placed on top of a Ritz cracker instead of your well-known graham cracker. If you decide to go a step further than we did, buy some melting chocolate chips and tip your finished product in the rich flavor of milk or even dark chocolate. Place on a cookie tray and cool in the refrigerator. Happy eating!

Ingredients:

Directions:

Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Lay 24 Ritz crackers on the lined cookie sheet and generously spread Nutella on 12 of them.
Spread a heaping Tablespoon of marshmallow creme on the remaining crackers.
Place the Nutella and marshmallow creme crackers together, like a sandwich.
Enjoy and Share!

Yield: 12 S’mores

Optional: Consider dipping the cracker sandwich in melted chocolate and let cool!

Looking for a tasty treat that might actually bring you to a blue sky, sunny island, palm tree lain resort? This non-alcoholic cocktail is perfect for you, the kids and whoever else might want to see how sun rays really taste. Mixed with orange, pineapple, cranberry and orange juice this sweet treat will be a easy go to drink recipe for the entire family. Share this spring break, summer or by the pool with the kids!

Ingredients:

1 Cup orange juice
1 Cup pineapple juice
1 Cup cranberry juice
¼ Cup lime juice
2 tbsps sugar syrup
1 Cinnamon stick
1 Orange, sliced
6 Cherries

Directions:

In a jar combine the orange juice, pineapple juice, lime juice, 1 tablespoon of sugar syrup, and the cinnamon stick. Stir until well combined.
Place in the fridge to chill for 1 hour.
In a small jar combine the cranberry juice with the sugar syrup. Stir well and chill for 1 hour.
Take out both jars and pour the cranberry juice into the tall glasses.
Remove the cinnamon stick and pour the orange-pineapple juice into the glasses without stirring the contents.
Garnish with the orange slices and cherries.
Serve and enjoy.

Tips: For a tropical punch add passion fruit juice.

Love the taste of an authentic taco? Pair your favorite veggies, mix in our easy roasted corn recipe and toss in a tortilla for the delicious taste of these Veggie Street Tacos.

Roasted Corn & Veggie Street Tacos

If you read the blog, you know our love of tacos. We love tacos so much, we had to start twisting up recipes to not eat the “same old” recipe all the time. This taco recipe is fun. With a simple twist of lime and a touch of roasted corn, it’s delicious and and an often shared recipe.

Ingredients:

2 cups canned corn (about 15 oz)
2 cups canned black beans (about 15 oz)
1 cup rice
1 garlic clove
1 tomato diced
1 avocado sliced
shredded Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/4 teaspoon chili powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
Dash of pepper
6 tortillas
Lime wedges

Directions:

In a pot, bring 2 cups lightly salted water to boil.
Add the rice reduce to a simmer with the lid closed.
Let it simmer until all the water is gone or about 15 minutes.
Remove from the heat and let it it for 5 minutes.
Mince the garlic, and add it to a nonstick skillet with vegetable oil on medium-high heat.
Add corn; cook 8 to 10 minutes or until corn starts to brown, stirring occasionally (we made the mistake of not roasting until the brown edging appeared.)
Stir in chili powder, salt and pepper to the corn.
Evenly mix corn and rice together in a bowl.
Slice the avocado, and tomato. Set aside.
Warm the black beans in the microwave.
Prepare the tortillas with the rice, corn, black beans, tomato, avocado, garlic, and Parmesan cheese.
Top each individual taco with a touch of lime as needed.
Serve and enjoy.

Looking for an EASY mug recipe to get started? This Mug Brownie Recipe for One has ingredients you likely have in your pantry, no need to run to the store. Best of all, this brownie recipe takes only a couple minutes to make making your evening dessert ready in under five minutes – no need waiting 25 minutes for that oven to ding! I love that I am not over eating. It seems once I make a pan of brownies, I am always trimming the edges until suddenly half the pan is gone!
