What is Scattergories?
Scattergories is a game of wits and words. In the game there are categories that players must think of answers to, but the twist is every answer begins with the same letter as your category. For example: Christmas songs that have names that begin with S.
The game can be made more difficult for adults (think songs with three-syllables) or easier for younger players. Players that are younger will usually think of simple answers like Silent Night and Santa Claus is Coming to Town, but the older players may come up with songs such as Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time and Sleigh Ride.
Scattergories is a fantastic game for people of all ages. The best part? You can play it anywhere. It’s an easy go-to game that can be pulled out during any holiday gathering or on a long car ride. It’s accessible for almost anyone and offers hours of fun!

Hand each guest a copy of the Christmas-themed words to use in the game. Using a a timer, set a time limit for game play. Players will think of words that fit the description on the left and also match the letter of the alphabet at the top of the column.
Once the time is up, the fun begins when each player shares their words for each topic. If an answer is voted not to be a good answer, they lose that point. The player with the most blanks filled with accepted answers wins the round!
