I Spy: This classic game is perfect for young children and can be played by anyone. One person starts by saying, “I spy with my little eye something that is (color, shape, texture, etc.).” The other players then have to guess what object the first person is thinking of.
20 Questions: This game is similar to I Spy, but instead of describing an object, the player thinks of a person, place, or thing. The other players then get to ask 20 questions to try to figure out what the player is thinking of.
The Alphabet Game: The goal of this game is to spot objects in alphabetical order staring with letter a, then letter b and so on. For example, you might see an Acura, balloon, and cat. The next person would then have to find something that starts with the letter D.
The License Plate Game: This game is played by looking for license plates from different states. The first person to spot a license plate from every state wins the game. It’s hard to get 50 state tags when you involve Hawaii and Alaska!
Animal Name Game: Perfect their spelling you start listing this series of animals. Let the fun continue when each player list the name of an animal that starts when the ending letter of the alphabet from the pervious animal listed. See if you can stump the next player!
Car Cricket: Pay attention to the color of cars and try to score the most points when you are up to bat. This game has no skill but see who will get lucky racking up their points to 100 winning the game first.
Connections: Connect words in this fun ongoing game. It will be quite insightful to see how the whole family sees different words and how different things string together in their mind making each invidudal unique.
Conversation Starters: Get to know your family with these conversation starters. Perfect for the dinner table, they also can be used in the car for road trip fun!
Sing a Long String a Long: Warm up your vocal chords and try to catch a tune. String the line of a song with a new song when you connect words from lyrics
I’m Going on a Picnic: In this game, the first player lists something they are bringing on a picnic. The second person repeats their items and adds one of their own items. The game continues with a string of items added to the picnic basket. (Don’t worry – it doesn’t have to fit inside, get creative with ideas!)
Impersonation: See if you can identify the actor or character your carmate is impersonating!
