The Big Toy Book  is a web site with all kinds of toys, apparel, etc. BUT it also has a members-only shopping community where you can get discounts of up to 70% off toys, games and more for kids!  Make sure to register for the members-only section to get these huge savings!  Then, when you go back to the site, make sure you scroll down to the bottom to log in and access the members-only private sale community.  Make sure to visit their Blog also for all kinds of tips and ideas.

One item that The Big Toy Book let me try out was their product geared toward that older group of kids – a helicopter. My husband is like a big kid when it comes to toys and the Interceptor R/C Indoor/Outdoor Flight Helicopter by Interactive Toy Concepts is no exception!  This remote control helicopter says it’s age-appropriate for 12 years + and I would have to agree because it is a little difficult to drive.  While it is an indoor/outdoor device, I would recommend using it outdoors as learning out to drive it is a bit difficult in the beginning. With two thumbs requiring the work, you don’t want to test drive it near your precious lamp. Note: You can get this on The Big Toy Book right now.

We liked that it charges via a USB cable directly into a USB port instead of using batteries, so you can plug it into your computer to charge!  A remote control helicopter like this would burn through batteries!  It takes about 60 minutes to charge for the first time.  There are two flying modes: Normal and Pro.  We used normal (because we don’t consider ourselves pros!) and it flew very smooth and easy, besides the driving difficulties I mentioned above.

All in all, this helicopter is tons of fun no matter your age!

    Best toy I eve got is really going to date me. I got what I believe to be one of the very first Power Wheels brand vehicles. It was a CHiPs Motorcycle. My sister and I both got one for Christmas and we both rode them far longer than the weight limit suggested we should. :-)

I remember when cabbage patch kids first became popular and several of my cousins had them but my Mom told me she just did not think we could afford one, and even then I knew money was tight, yet on Christmas, she surprised me with a cabbage patch kid. :)

    Little Foot stuffed animal from the the movie “Land Before Time” when I was 7 years old. The night of my wedding I returned to my apartment to get my bag and go on my honeymoon, I considered taking it along, but decided my hubby would not appreciate it. So it was prolly time to get rid of it, Ha!!

    One of the favorite toys I received as a little girl was a handmade little kitchen set my dad and uncle made for me. It was a very simple design (kids today would probably laugh at it!), but I was thrilled! My mom painted it yellow and white, with a stencil of flowers, and it was cherished for many years!!!

    The one toy that I got as a little girl that was my most favorite was a green sluggery worm. Till today I still remember it and my memories of it are great! It had four yellow wheels on it and every time I’d jump on it it would slugg away. It was awsome! I just loved riding my green sluggery worm! =)

    My favorite toy ever was a cap gun my pawpaw bought me when I was 4 because my mom wouldn’t. I don’t know why I wanted a cap gun but I have a picture of myself in my fancy little dress at Christmas holding it and I have the biggest smile on my face.

    My favorite toy was a stuffed tiger. When I was 5, I took it on vacation to Texas and it was accidentally left behind in the motel room. When I discovered my tiger was missing, we had driven too far home to turn around and retrieve it. My parents bought me a stuffed lion as a replacement; it was a poor substitute for my beloved tiger.

    I loved my doll-sized supermarket toy when I was little. It was a hand-me-down from my sisters. They even had little paper bags to hold the groceries, and a conveyor belt that you can turn. Loved it!
