Balloons are the best way to welcome your Elf on the Shelf back into the home. They are easy to do, usually you have the supplies on hand and balloons can create adorable hot air balloons, balloon bouquets, or can even trap Elf in a funny situation.

If you are look for fun Elf on the Shelf Arrival Ideas, this adorable Elf on the shelf balloon delivery is really easy to put together.

How do you get the Elf on the Shelf in a balloon?

It is really easy to trap Elf on the Shelf in a balloon. You will need a couple supplies on hand including a funnel and a balloon pump, but I actually have found them great for using for kids birthday parties and other times of the year. The balloon pump making blow up a balloon very easy and the funnel allows you to insert some really fun things into your latex balloons.

Instructions

To trap your elf on the Shelf in a balloon, stretch your latex balloon with your fingers. Wrap the balloon around the funnel base and sit your Elf in the funnel. Slowly begin to wrap the latex balloon around your elf. Then use your balloon pump to blow up your balloon.  Tie off and you are done. Follow the complete Elf on the Shelf balloon tutorial here.

You can also add fun treats inside the balloon like candies or small Elf on the Shelf props and treats.

Elf on the Shelf is a Christmas Tradition. The tradition has a book and a elf doll. The book is poetic and in rhyme sharing the purpose of the Elf’s visits. The Elf visits each Thanksgiving. He/She goes and returns from the North Pole each evening. Every morning he can be found in a new location in the house. The Elf has been found in the refrigerator, fishing in the toilet, writing messages on the mirror or hanging from the lights. It is VERY IMPORTANT, the Elf is not touch each evening or his Christmas magic will be lost! Each family is able to name their special elf. The elves return to their home (Santa’s North Pole Work shop) every Christmas Eve. An Elf’s Story can also be found on DVD.

Want to make a huge impact on your borning Elf on the Shelf ideas. Well this cute Ballon Elf idea isn’t a snore. Your kids will love the Christmas decorations elf brings when this adorable Christmas balloon garland arrives by none other than their very own Scout elf.

This is going to be a ton of fun!

Make a big impact with a little bit of effort. This easy balloon garland uses the color scheme red and green for Christmas. However, you can make this fun idea Hanukkah, birthday parties, a baby shower celebration, or plenty of other fun occasion. It definitely add a wow factor!

How to make balloon garland

These step-by-step instructions for how to make Balloon garland can easily be summarized with the word tape. Repeat after me. Tape is your friend.

We used an 18 foot green tinsel garland. You can grab something larger if you want a longer Christmas garland.

Start by blowing up your round balloons and tying off the end of each balloon. For this 18 foot garland, we used 8 (4 red, 4 green) balloons. Multiply as needed.

It will be obvious (you aren’t doing this for professional Christmas decor – let’s call it amazing Dollar Tree Christmas Decor), tape the balloons to your plastic cups. We inserted the knot of the balloon in to the cup and taped around the edges.

Once you’ve made your balloons look like Christmas lights, tape them to the green garland about every two feet.

Then tape your balloon light garland to the ceiling. Did we mention tape was the keyword in this christmas balloon garland tutorial?

Make sure your tape is secure on the ceiling and gently add your Scout Elf.

Viola – with only a few accessories, you’ve made your own balloon garland kit.

How fun was this Elf idea?

Balloon Garland Pro Tips: You can use a glue gun for this idea but not glue will make the balloon pop, so consider a cold glue gun. Command hooks would also be good for hanging on the ceiling or all. Consider fishing line to also tie your balloons, cups and garland together.

With a few supplies and some creativity, you can easily re-create this Superhero Elf on the Shelf idea.

How to create Superhero Elf on the Shelf idea

Its not physically complicated to make a DIY Superhero Elf on the Shelf idea however it does require some creativity – so if you don’t have it, move down to places to buy superhero costumes or download Elf on the Shelf Superhero printables.

First start with the city. Create rectangles of black construction paper. These will be our buildings.

Next, use yellow construction paper to create small squares. These will be your building’s windows reflecting light in the night sky. Glue your windows on the black rectangles.

Layer your cityscape on to a surface area. This can be a wall, window, or (as we did) a chalk board. Your night cityline is done.

Next plan your super hero. You can use Batman, Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, or other Marvel superheroes and DC characters.

Create a cape for your superhero. A triangle will do, have extra room at the top of your triangle to wrap around your Superhero Elf’s neck. Tape can connect your cape. You can even make a cute logo to the back of your Superhero cape.

Create a basic Elf mask. You can use a glue stick or tape to connect it to your Elf’s face.

Stage yoru Elf on yoru backdrop. Use tape to hold up the elf or grab a elf standing prop like an Elf stand.

Viola – You’re done. Now go save the world, super woman, and kick crime and mischief to the curb!

What is Elf on the Shelf?

Elf on the Shelf is a Christmas Tradition. The tradition has a book and a elf doll. The book is poetic and in rhyme sharing the purpose of the Elf’s visits. The Elf visits each Thanksgiving. He/She goes and returns from the North Pole each evening. Every morning he can be found in a new location in the house. The Elf has been found in the refrigerator, fishing in the toilet, writing messages on the mirror or hanging from the lights. It is VERY IMPORTANT, the Elf is not touch each evening or his Christmas magic will be lost! Each family is able to name their special elf. The elves return to their home (Santa’s North Pole Work shop) every Christmas Eve. An Elf’s Story can also be found on DVD.
