How can I print my own playing cards at home?

To print your own printable deck of cards at home, you need a deck of cards template PDF. Make sure you have supplies including a printer, printer ink, and printer paper. Printing on cardstock will give you strong and sturdy cards and a laminator will give you a glossy finish.

It’s effortless to download and print your playing cards PDF. Grab a few supplies and follow these directions for how to get your set of miniature playing cards.

Supplies

An Elf
Deck of Playing Cards Printable PDF (see below)
Printer
Printer Ink
Cardstock or Printer Paper
Scissors
Glue Stick

Instructions

First, you need your deck of cards downloadable templates. This will give you a standard deck or quantity of 52 playing cards and the back of the cards. Includes hearts, spades, diamonds and clubs. In addition to the cards Ace to King, you will get 2 jokers and 2 Elf shoes. You can put aside these mini-card additions if they do not fit your game.

Print your printable playing cards. For the best quality, this is best printed on cardstock and maybe sent to your local copy center.

Cut each card out as well as the back of the card. Using a glue stick, glue the back and front together. The final dimensions for each card will be approximately 0.9 inches wide x 1.3 inches tall.

Tip: For a smooth finish, consider laminating your cards before you cut them.

Care packages are a great way to show someone you care, especially if they are going through a tough time. You can make a care package for anyone – a friend, family member, or even a stranger. They’re perfect all year long because kindness is always in season! Put together a box of sunshine for someone today with this easy DIY care package tutorial and fun care package printable!

DIY Care Package

A care package is a gift box full of fun items. This can be a parcel or cardboard box filled with activities, foods, trinkets, luxury items and/or thoughtful gifts. They are typically sent to a person through the mail service (FedEx, USPS, UPS) but can also be hand delivered.

A care package doesn’t have to be expensive, but it should be thoughtful and personal. There are so many different ways to make a care package. You can include anything you think the recipient would appreciate, whether it’s food, activities, or just some words of encouragement. The sky’s the limit!

What do I put in a care package?

What happens when an amazing, scrapbook-loving mother of five starts loosing kids to college? She transfers her scrapbook making to college care packages. She starts with a theme and she gets rolling with incredible items to put inside the packages.

You don’t have to be a mother of five or a former scrap-booker to make amazing gift boxes. You simply have to know what to put inside a care package. To make your own care package, start by gathering all of the items you want to include. Try to stay on a theme and go from there. Of course, the theme can be “a few of my favorite things…” (meaning personalize it to yourself and the gift receiver.)

Here are some ideas to get you started. Choose a few items from each category to make a special treat the gift receiver is sure to love!

Food Items: non-perishable snacks, candy, gum, tea, coffee, favorite foods, healthy snacks

Activities and Entertainment: books, puzzles, board games, crafts, adult coloring books

Encouragement: positive affirmations, encouraging quotes, a handwritten note, bible verse cards

Trinkets: Mugs, bookmarks, framed photo, postcard with a sweet gift message, favorite items

Once you have your care box items, it’s time to put together your care package!

Are you looking for a fun activity for the kids. This Christmas printable recognizes the Letter E in the alphabet and also brings forth a character we all know and love – an Elf! Have fun working on Alphabet handprint which can be delivered by your family elf or done as a craft independently of an Elf on the Shelf doll.

How do you make an Elf out of handprints?

It’s simple to create an Elf on the Shelf using your handprint. Using a paint brush, first paint your child’s hand with paint. Wipe off any excess paint. Placing your hand upside down on paper instantly create an Elf’s torso, legs and arms. Let your handprint art dry and then decorate your elf head, hands and feet.

Let’s get in the holiday spirit, gather a few supplies and learn how to make this adorable elf with step by step instructions.

Materials

Tempera Paint
Paint Brush (one inch brushes are a great size.)
Printer Paper or Cardstock
Printer
Paper Towels
Optional: Crayons or Colored Pencils
Optional: The Elf on the Shelf Doll

Instructions

To start this Elf on the Shelf craft, simply print the free Elf handprint art template digital download (see below.)

Lay out your Elf handprint art activity sheet with your Scout Elf on the Shelf. Have your family elf bring it in the morning. Set your craft materials to the side and be prepared for a fun Christmas activity the next day.

First get together paints. Tempera paint is best when making handprint art for Christmas. Green or red paint would be best for an elf’s outfit.

Use your paint brush to paint your toddler’s hand. You can avoid painting one of your child’s fingers, maybe the ring finger to keep four appendages (two arms, two legs) – otherwise your elf might have a tail like ours!

Carefully place your child’s on the Elf printable template so that a finger lines up with each hand and each foot. The palm will line up with the elve’s face.

Allow your hand print to dry.

After dry, color your elf’s head, hands and feet.

Now you have a small handprint frozen in time.

Extend the activity with more Christmas Handprint Art printables and paper crafts.

TIP: This is best for preschoolers as very small hands need to cover this Elf body. Did your child’s hand cover the head or hands of this elf craft? If so, print out a second sheet of paper with the elf head, hands and feet. Let your child color the head, hands and feet and then carefully cut them out. Use glue sticks to glue your cut out pieces on top of the dried handprint. You could even add googly eyes for a 3-d touch. Use your own creativity to make the cutest paper elves ever.

Can I do this fun elf craft with a footprint?

Yes, this can easily be a footprint elf craft too. Make both – a handprint and footprint – as cute elf craft ideas to hang on the Christmas tree or display as Christmas Décor on the fireplace. Follow the same instructions only paint your child’s footprint instead of small hand. The grandparents would especially love this gift idea.

Elf on the Shelf Resources

At Frugal Coupon Living, our goal, to create an easy Elf on the Shelf season for you. This is not our first year of having an Elf in the home. Elf on the Shelf is a Christmas Tradition. The tradition has a book and a elf doll. The book is poetic and in rhyme sharing the purpose of the Elf’s visits. The Elf visits each Thanksgiving. He/She goes and returns from the North Pole each evening. Every morning he can be found in a new location in the house. The Elf has been found in the refrigerator, fishing in the toilet, writing messages on the mirror or hanging from the lights. It is VERY IMPORTANT, the Elf is not touch each evening or his Christmas magic will be lost! Each family is able to name their special elf. The elves return to their home (Santa’s North Pole Work shop) every Christmas Eve. An Elf’s Story can also be found on DVD.

Instructions

Using our weather printable, print out the weather chart (see below.) Cut apart the pieces

Have your little guy deliver it to your child one evening. Hang the chart beside the Christmas Elf.

In the morning your child will see this weather chart.

Talk to them about the observations they see outside and help them use glue or tape to add today’s weather to the weather map.

The 3 foot 5 foot rule states that when walking through a room, every surface within 3 feet and 5 feet of the floor should be clear and free of clutter. This includes shelves, countertops, tables, floors, etc. By eliminating the clutter, your home’s best features will pop – that cute corner, that amazing arch, those roomy walk in closets, that bright window…!

Rent a storage container for a month. Grabbing something like a POD can be quickly filled in your driveway. The pod is picked up and your stuff can be sent directly to your new home. Doing part of the moving of furniture and things yourself mgiht even save on moving expenses.

Everyone knows that the holiday season wouldn’t be complete without the Nutcracker Ballet! This Printable Nutcracker Activity for Kids is so much imaginative fun. Not only can they print out the various Nutcrackers scenes, but they’ll have the printable paper dolls to go along with it, as well. When it comes to Christmas Placemats Activities, adding this printable Nutcracker scene activity to the table might be the perfect holiday addition.

Part of getting excited and ready for the holidays is thinking about all the Christmas classics from the past. Since The Nutcracker Ballet is one that everyone loves and knows, it just makes sense to have fun activities surrounding that theme!

What I love about this holiday printable activity is that it’s a great way to get the kids active and involved. They’ll love being able to turn the pages, change the scenes, and have the paper dolls be a part of the fun.

How does this printable Nutcracker activity work?

It’s as simple as printing out the pages and then piecing them together to make fun scenes from The Nutcracker. The paper dolls can be used on every page to make the story come to life.

Once it’s put together, there are parts and pieces that can be moved around and used differently throughout the rest of the printable set.

This is where creativity and imagination come into play and makes it super fun to use over and over again. Flipping the pages and having the paper dolls in various different scenes is a simple way to make this Nutcracker idea and activity unique and different every time.

Can this nutcracker printable be used by one person?

You bet! It’s a super fun activity for one or multiple! All you have to do is print, and then whoever wants to join in on the fun can absolutely do so. This is a great way to imagine and then make it happen, which is what little kids love to do!

I do recommend that there be a part of adult hands to help out with the little hands in making and putting this together. Adult supervision and help are always welcomed. (plus, the bonus of creating it together is an awesome memory!)

Laminator (this is optional – but I love laminating my stuff!)

This would also be super cute to have on the holiday table as a unique centerpiece or even a fun place mat on the kid’s plates to give them something to do with their hands while they’re waiting for dinner.

How to create a Nutcracker Travel Set

Perhaps while you create your christmas craft, turn on Youtube the classical music from the Nutcracker by composer Tchaikovsky. This might give you a little inspiration and Christmas cheera s you make your Nutcracker traveling set.

First, download and print your printable nutcracker activity set. If working with preschoolers or toddlers, have older children or adults guide them through the activity. We find cardstock works great but printer paper is just fine.

To begin, use the ruler and back blunt edge of your scissors to score the two dotted lines of Page 1. Fold both of the lines inward to form the base.

Next cut out the flap from page 2. Use the ruler and back edge of your scissors to score the single dotted line. Fold this line back.

Place the flap over the right, short edge of the base. Glue the underside of the flap to the front, outside, folding it over the base, forming an envelope.

Open the base up all the way with the white side up on a flat surface. The flap should be on the right.

Cut out the two pockets from page 3. Score along the dotted lines of each envelope and fold these inward.

Apply glue to the flaps and adhere each pocket to the bottom left and bottom right of the base. Line the edges up with the outside edges of the base page.

Next, cut out the top and side curtains from page 4. Score the curtains along the dotted lines. Fold the flaps back.

Apply glue to the flaps of the middle curtain and glue it to the top of the base, carefully centering it in the middle, about I/8th of an inch from the very top edge. After the middle curtain dries in place, flip it up.

Now, glue the two side curtains in the same manner, lining them up along each side edge of the base page. Set aside.

Cut out the three stage scenes Prom pages 5 – 7. Fold each scene in half, carefully folding, then creasing them down the middle.

Glue the back right of scene 1 to the back left of scene 2. Next, glue the back right of scene 2 to the back right of scene 3. This will create a small booklet of scenes.

Next, open up all curtain flaps. Glue the backs of the booklet in place, carefully centering it between the two side curtains and about I/16th down from the top curtain flap fold.

To change scenes, open the three curtain flaps, turn the booklet page, then place the curtain flaps back down into place.

Cut out all dancers and decorations. These items don’t have to be cut exactly. It’s Pine to leave some white space around the edges. Categorize the items and place them into the correct envelopes, Dancers or Decorations. (These would be fine laminated if you want to keep them in good shape.)

Now carefully fold the Nutcracker Kit in half. Use the flat end of your scissors or the end of a ruler to re-crease the folds so they are sharp.

Finally, cut out the long band and decorative sticker from page 2. Starting at the center front, hold the end in place, then wrap the long band all the way around the short width of the base kit, creasing the band as you go.

Apply glue to the back of the decorative snow-flake sticker to connect the band in the front. Make sure that you only glue the band together. Don’t glue the band to your base!

Enjoy your entire land of sweets travel kit during the Nutcracker season.
