Directions
The easy slime recipe & tutorial are pretty simple. It takes about 5 minutes (if not less) to perfect. You can use it immediately.
First, put your clear school glue into a bowl.
Add some neon green food coloring and mix together. Ad as much coloring as you need until you get the bright green color your prefer.
Next, sprinkle the baking soda over the top, and mix well with a fork until there are no lumps in your slime.
Add in the contact solution and mix with the fork.
Finally, after you’ve mixed with the fork for a while, mix with your hands until it’s nice and stretchy. Your slime is done.
To store, add the Christmas slime snot to your jar or container.
Print the Elf snot labels to cardstock or sticker paper (Avery Sticker template 22807 set of 16 at 2 inches or Avery Sticker template 94514 set of 4 at 3.5 inches)
Put the Elf Snot sticker onto the jar or tie the cardstock gift tag with a ribbon or string.
Tips
- Any contact solution or eye drops with boric acid will work.
- If the gel-like slime is still sticky add a few more drops of contact solution.
- Batch can be directly cut in half if you only need one jar. A full batch will make 3 jars
- I used a 2.7 ounce jar from Hobby Lobby (here) which works perfect for the small elf snot printable circles/stickers.

What is Elf on the Shelf?
Elf on the Shelf is a Christmas Tradition. The tradition has a book and a elf doll. The book is poetic and in rhyme sharing the purpose of the Elf’s visits. The Elf visits each Thanksgiving. He/She goes and returns from the North Pole each evening. Every morning he can be found in a new location in the house. The Elf has been found in the refrigerator, fishing in the toilet, writing messages on the mirror or hanging from the lights. It is VERY IMPORTANT, the Elf is not touch each evening or his Christmas magic will be lost! Each family is able to name their special elf. The elves return to their home (Santa’s North Pole Work shop) every Christmas Eve. An Elf’s Story can also be found on DVD.
